The Ashram in Kankhal, India

This compact ashram is in Kankhal, right next to the ancient pilgrimage town of Haridwar, in the foothills of the Himalayas.  It is located in Sannyas  Road, a street filled with old ashrams  beside the Ganges River.

A four hour train ride north of New Delhi, and a short drive from the train station, Kankhal is a place where the Vedic way of life, under the guidance of the Mahamandaleshwars, Acharyas and holy men of the Hindu tradition, continues today as it has for eons.

At present 40 people can be accommodated in the ashram which provides an ideal monastic setting for spiritual practice with the daily program consisting of Sanskrit chanting, meditation and vedic rituals.

Telephone and e-mail services are available nearby. Transport can be arranged to and from New Delhi.
