Shanti Darshanam is a program of residential courses offered at the ashram in Magod. Yoga asana, pranayama, Ayurveda, meditation and chanting are amongst the full range of practices covered. Course participants explore the universal principles of the Sanatana Dharma, through study of the ancient wisdom derived from the Vedas, the source of spiritual inspiration in India. In this way the courses represent an opportunity to explore the complete spectrum of yoga wisdom, in order to develop a practice that unifies self enquiry, physical balance and spiritual endeavour.
By offering these study programs, Shanti Darshanam is expanding an important undertaking inspired by Gurudev Nityananda to preserve the extraordinary legacy that this knowledge represents. The courses are facilitated by qualified teachers and conducted while Gurudev is in residence at the ashram.
Darshanam is a Sanskrit word with great depth of meaning: to see, not just with the eyes, but to percieve and have insight into something that is profound. Shanti means the steady experience of peace that can’t be disturbed.
Three courses are being offered in January 2011, they will run simultaneously over 4 weeks.
